The Fast and the Party After

20 October 2026 · 27:57 · 8 chapters · 71 sources

In 2011, Anna Hazare's fast against corruption shook the UPA government. In 2026, people are back on the streets, this time under the BJP. The parties have swapped sides, but the rules used against protesters, cartoonists and journalists have stayed, and some have only grown.

This video traces each of those laws to the party that wrote it and the party that used it: sedition, Section 144 (now Section 163), the IT Act's Sections 66A and 69A, the UAPA and the money-laundering law. It asks who the police really serve, what Congress would change if it won, and why it feels like we're stuck watching the same match, innings after innings.
